Patent Reform Bill Moves to President Obama for Signature; Tax Strategy Patents Provision Included

On September 8, the US Senate passed the America Invents Act. The bill was identical to the one passed recently by the House of Representatives, sending the bill to President Obama for him to sign it into law. The measure includes a provision that ends the patenting of tax strategies, a legislative remedy the AICPA and state CPA societies have been advocating on behalf of their members for the past five years.
